Decided to give a bit of a rest to my left hip joint. It hurts since Saturday week ago. Not sure if it is due to 8hr drive I did Friday before, or if something went wrong during 4 days of consecutive running but it hurts. When I tried to run through it (remember Scott Jurek's: "Not every pain is significant..."?) last Monday, after three hour bike trip in pouring rain and 6 degrees C on Sunday, it absolutely did not help. Ended up limping around the office entire Monday and most of Tuesday, leaving for three day long business trip afterwards. Took the running gear with me, but niggling pain was still there. Three days of oral ketoprofen treatment definitely helped, nevertheless it still hurts in certain positions. So what to do? The options were: to kick-off fitness (understand: underground, claustrophobic gym-fitness center) season, admitting that winter is unarguably here, or try if no-impact turbo-trainer bike session makes any difference to the pain. Decided for bike. Did 2hrs, cadence 90-94, 1,664kcal. Powered by 500ml GU Roctane. I suppose the hip will present me with the result tomorrow...
